Subbuteo Teams
Hi folks, Mum is moving at last, finally persuaded her to downsize. This has obviously increased my work load tenfold, including many trips to the tip. I hired a man with a van yesterday to get rid of a load of stuff, we had two trucks equalling 1 Ton of mixed waste which cost a small fortune as you can imagine (£130 per half ton).
I'm going though all my old belongings from when I was a wee young lad, my old 1970's Scalextric, 80's Race and Chase, 70's Puck Master, and many 80's Matchbox and Corgi cars including several large 70's and 80's TONKA toys, there's just so much stuff, and it's all made in England. My main love was my Subbuteo teams, I've just been through them all and it turns out I have 74x teams. Most teams are complete, but some have a man or goalie missing or a man broken off from his base, plus some boxes are a bit tatty. I wondered if anyone would have an idea what the 60's and 70's Subbuteo teams are worth. My father was buying these before I was even born, then continued up until I was around 8 years old. Cheers fellas. Last edited by Dallas; 27th May 2021 at 20:23.. |

That's one hell of a hoard Wes, the 70's Subbuteo teams are in demand now, just put one on the bay and see what it fetches!!

Wes, I can help with valuations on the Scalexctric although Ebay will also give you an idea.
I have been selling my collection and have sold getting on for 700 scalextric cars. You will be surprised what stuff is worth money. We sold some stickers all from the 70's I suspect and all to do with motorcyling. I would have been happy with £20 ecstatic at £40 but bowled over at £137 macafee2 |

To be honest, I'm in two minds on whether to sell it or keep it. Now I've got it all out, I'm reluctant to get rid of it all. My father also kept the Subbuteo football table, its a 6ft x 4ft wooden framed football pitch. The sad this is, the mice have been at it, they've eaten some of the felt, also the wood little buggers. I'm going to play with it over the weekend and then make my mind up, I may also take the Tonka toys out in the garden and have a play in the dirt and then have my mates round for a Scalextric challenge, I doubt SWMBO will allow that though... |

Sadly the Scalextric is already a bit battered Ian, no original box either. |

The scalextric takes me back. I had the same Elf Tyrrell and a mini too but in red with the chequered roof which I couldn't keep on the track! My dad bought a plywood board and stapled the subbuteo pitch to it and we had the old fashioned floodlights too. I was always Newcastle and true to form got beat most games off my dad. Apparently the Man United team came with a referee in the box.
