Default 75 cdti air con pipe change.

Hi all,
Could someone explain what needs to be taken apart to be able to change the air con pipe on my 75 cdti. The pipe that gets worn away by the power steering pipe and ends up with a pin hole in it. It goes from the compressor to the radiator.

Thanks

Pete.

You'll need to take the front bumper off Pete to gain access to the condenser* connection.

Simon

* To avoid confusion with the cooling system, the air conditioning "radiator" is called the condenser.

I was thinking condenser but wasn't sure.
Di I need to empty the coolant?
And just the front bumper or the front panel behind the bumper as well?

if you mean the air con gas/refrigerant then yes but get it done professionally, not leak it into the atmosphere

No engine coolant needs to be drained, go nice and easy on the 8mm headed bolt that holds the pipe into the condenser, these have been known to snap off on more than one occasion.

There is no refrigerant left in the system. It all leaked out when the metal pipe had its hole rubbed into it.

One last question, the other end of this pipe goes to the compressor, is it easily accessible?

Thanks

Pete.
