MGB Roadster parts + pre 1980 SD1 engine + box
As above I'd be interested to hear of any roadster parts and also a pre 80 rover V8 engine preferably with a manual box that may be for sale.

Be worth contacting the local MG Owners club for sourcing parts.

For the MGB roaster parts could be worth contacting Mike Rolls Services for MGs.
They are in Dorset and carry a large stock of new and used parts and can also get hold of most parts that you would need. http://www.mikerolls.co.uk/shop.html

Thanks guys it's not for me but for a cousin in Norfolk who has just finished a Porsche 928 restoration and has just bought a rust free (almost) shell and is thinking about building himself a street racer look V8 MG Roadster.
He's almost 80 and over the last few years he has completed a top to bottom rebuild of a 2 bed bungalow, rebuilt the Porsche and is now looking to be a boy racer again with the MG project..lol I wish I had his energy. He will no doubt follow all the search options available but I offered to put a post on here just in case anyone has a few bits laying around the shed. |

Why a pre 80 engine Ian? Theres not a lot of difference with the later ones...
If he wants a later one, Mr Yarham had one tucked away a few weeks ago.

Do you know what shell he has got?
The engine bay configuration on a later rubber model makes it much easier to install a V8. It is much more straightforward to convert a rubber bumper to chrome, rather than mod a chrome bumper model to accept the V8 engine.

I think he want's to keep it age related Andy, he's now bought a stripped engine with a LT77 box from a TR8 which he will rebuild but still looking for a bell housing and flywheel to suit. If I get the chance at some time I'll introduce you to him he used to own the old Aquaplane tuning company of E93 Ford fame.

It is indeed a rubber bumper shell Bob but will be converted to a chrome or even a quarter bumper finish.
