What is the reason for the plastic mesh - just behind the strut bottom mounting in the first photo?

Thanks John
These are even more vital on a 260 as the lower drain holes are only 5/15th inch (8mm) diam holes!

Think we realise that Harry but all the water & debris comes in from the drivers side on a UK Car and sloshes over to the passenger side, if the drain under the servo is blocked (which very few owners can get to!)
The plenum chamber (or double bulkhead ) is all one area.
Any ECU water damaged actually comes from the driver's side
I'll try and dig out a pic with the whole shuttle cover removed and all will be rervealed

Oh, I didn't realise that - thanks for the explanation.

I have managed to clean out two of the three (they didn't really need it), but I have not yet found the third one under the brake servo - so the photos would be very helpful.

Same purpose as the Main Shield Harry.........to allow water down but not the pesky leaf debris!

You will see it with a torch and telescopic mirror (right under the center line of the servo)

Ellow Harry.

There are 3 plenums sort of.. two small ones situated by the bonnet hinges, and one long very deep one in between those two..

The shallow ones are very easy to get at, and the one on the passenger side has a lil wall between it and the main one that stops any debris getting in from that side..

The shallow one on the driver side does not have a wall due to the wiper arm drive shafts being in the way, so leaves and other rubbish can get into the main plenham from that side thus blocking the drains in the bottom and causing water to slowly fill it up untill it both reaches the ECU and overflows via the pollen filter into the passenger side footwell..

Jules has designed a lil wall that goes in the drivers side to prevent any rubbish getting in from that side..

The wire mesh bit is to block a smaller hole that also lets rubbish into the main plenum box..

If you weren't confused before, you should be by now!

You are confusin people now James cos there are 2 lower drains (deep)
One underneath the centre line of the servo, the other is in front of the pollen filter.
Pics to follow unless someone beats me to it

Look good Jules - hope you have another batch in by the 20th! Pictures very clear - but where on earth did you find such filthy vehicles to model the mods for you?
