Acid for refurbing
Mild acid gobbles up rust if you leave a part soaking in it for long enough, i.e. 18-24 hours ish.
The vital question is, can it be used on brake calipers - i.e. submerse the whole thing in a bath after removing pistons & seals etc. Would the acid enlarge the un-rusty piston bore, thereby ruining the caliper, or would it just go for the rust? Has anyone ever tried it? |
