Auto Gearbox Problems ?

I am about to get another 75 and am thinking of going for an auto box, I cant see any auto related threads other than topping up the oil. Are there any problems with autos that might be waiting for me a few miles down the road ?

Do a search with "piston+Jatco" and you might find threads where owners of early boxes have needed repairs. The vulnerable part was apparently changed on later models. I wouldn't say there are any "common" faults, as reported here.

The Gearboxes are a Lot better than some people believe they are also fitted to several other makes of Car including Jaguar.
They can be a bit thirsty compared to the Manual Equivalent.
