Must admit I'm in the "oops" category. But my car's in for service today anyway, first time with this independent, but my business partner's used him for his Jags for years, so fully confident.

He says as part of the service he does test (that's the word he used, rather than "check") the brake fluid, although as I've now owned the car for just over 2 years, he thought he'd be recommending it was changed.

I have had mine changed twice from new so far under 3 years old and will be due again shortly for its 90000 mile service which Mr Lates will be undertaking.
I consider this a very important under taking knowing how much the break fluid can boil if neglected and could lead to all sorts of braking problems.
I hope yours are not seized Keith, the bleed nipples that is.

My Father's Club SE was done at 30K inspection service, and yes you can feel the difference!!

ie Brake feel is more solid with fresh fluid.
Pads were only half worn and not changed this time.

Will get it done at 60k - not done at 30k according to the service book - along with clutch fluid *goes to check the clutchfluid thread*

It is surprising the number of people that either didn't know this had to be done or don't know whether it has been done, nearly 41%
and the Brakes are what keep you on the road!
Very Interesting.

Personally I would not replace the clutch fluid. And lets be honest there a little clicky at the best of times - if it works leave well alone

Mine was done at 30,000 miles and is now due again.

As a side issue what is the capacity of the brake system? I have searched through Haynes and I can't find any reference to how much fluid will be needed to do the job
