Apologies if this has been asked a zillion times but do we have a contact for our man in Bulgaria please?
I want to get a price from him for a full kit in Piano black.

Default Walnut

Sorry Bolin only just saw your question. Templates were made from Balsawood ( not sure of spelling ). Very easy to work and get "whatever shape you want" .
Then walnut pieces were then made from templates on very thin wood and bonded to door card with evostick. I made them about 6 years ago and unfortunately, the balsawood templates are long gone. I used the same method to make the seat sides. Hope this helps.

The door switch faces were stripped and removed the burr walnut leaf was then bonded directly to the plastic face and lacquered. I wasn't sure that this would work but it did ( I would have used Simons pieces but didn't know of him then ).

ps It may me possible to use the same method on the front armrest?? I prefer leather. But, If I had a scrap arm rest lid to play with I could investigate.

Avon
No need to apologise Avon, it wasn't really a direct question - many thanks for the details on how they were made. I may try a similar method for the templates to come up with my own preferred design and use burr walnut veneer as someone is going to try on another thread.

I had thought of sending my door switches to one of those companies that can customise plastic dash parts, but it would have been very expensive for something that is not real walnut.

I have seen a walnut armrest, it was fitted to a members car in Belgium I think on a 'special edition' model - although the walnut armrest was made locally for MGR's Belgium offshoot. Leather must be more comfortable!

an update on the walnut seat sides from Simon, they are smaller than he thought so price will be reduced to around £20 plus £4 delivery, the first template is on its way to me for a test fit and i will keep you all posted - please do not try and order at the moment as there is no point until i confirm with Simon that the first template is a good fit - it will be the non memory option they will follow next
