Less posts could also mean that the cars are running good so less technical post, and when questions are asked most problems well lets say 90% have already been covered and or solved.
That is why I think and is only my opinion that local meets such as the nano will become more involved in the future, not only do you get to meet people to chat about the cars you can see them in real life, hopefully more meets local members will spring up. The dark winter nights will also see the posts rise I think.

I know that I spend less time here than before but largely due to work commitments and the like.

Also, the forum is a massive resource of information and advice which people can benefit from without necessarily posting new posts.

IMO we actually need to make more of an effort to consolidate the forum as a technical resource than an outright social experience. And yes, look at how many left compared to new, thats going to reflect a falling userbase. Bottom line, social media, declining numbers, the same question not being asked due to the answer being on the forum and also few people selling / more cars being scrapped well its bound to happen.

For me personally, most of my major questions have now been answered and my hols are over, so I'm spending more time at work and the rest trying to do what I've learnt on here.
I think it's just a case of most people are busy at the moment

I'm quite new on the forum, it is good how the forum caters for both technical matters and social interaction however, the thank you system leaves a lot to be desired, almost incestuous as are some threads
A bit annoying when a thread get's shut down which was quite interesting, perhaps mods could simply delete a post deemed to be over the top.. I recently sold my 75 CDTI as it did what I asked of it plus I didn't want a huge MOT bill but, I will certainly get hold of another 75 in spring, point being, I'll still check out the forum more or less each day.. |
