Check in the settings of the stereo for an on off setting for the pre outs. Some stereos used to have an option to disable them. If they were enabled and the volume turned up, there would be a little sound coming from the speakers, if not wired to an amp.

Next place to check, would be the wiring of the iso connector. Making sure they were intact and not spliced in any way. (Eg a negative from one side spliced to a negative of the other, but the positives correct)

There should or rather may be a set up menu, to look for disabling the pre out. for instance, my alpine, when I am in a particular source, say USB, pressing the menu button, I can access the menu relating to USB. If I put it to standby, press the menu, I would access a set up general menu. My old Kenwood was similar, holding in the menu button for 3 seconds, took me to a set up menu, where I could switch off the pre outs. The picture above will be for fading control of the sub.

It seems there is a low pass filter on the system. Without seeing how it was wired up, this may also be the cause.

Try PAGE 26 for the instructions (and installation/wiring)

You mention you checked the wiring for the speakers in post 4. Have you definitely got rear tweeters, and the sound is not leaking up through from the back of the woofer?

Hi
There are definitely rear tweeters. I'll look at page 26. Many thanks

Another question, I don't see it mentioned, what drivers (tweeters and woofers) are working? You mention minimal sound only from the rear tweeter and sound from front being fine. Does this mean only the tweeter is working slightly and the other three drivers are not?

If the other three are fine, that could point to damaged wiring crossover failure (corrosion or resistor breakdown)

Two front speakers and tweeters and one rear door tweeter working. Main rear two speakers and one tweeter not working. Hope that makes sense.
