Problem with Win CE Head unit
Unusual occurrence with win Ce Head unit supplied and fitted by Jeff(Coolcat). Short shopping trip this morning of 3 miles outward journey and the head unit suddenly shut down and restarted immediately six/seven times in that three mile journey. Happened only twice on the return leg. Any thoughts as to what may be wrong would be appreciated.

Hi Jeff, Thanks for responding. You must have forgotten me (I am the old guy from Reading) as I came up to you twice, first to fit my own win CE unit from China, and when that failed on me you then supplied me with a win CE with walnut trim already attached and also added a rear reversing camera. Both done at your house. I have never conversed with Radioguy.
I will do as you suggest though and come back to you. Many thanks. John

OK Jeff, still playing up this morning on my shopping trip so on return I disconnected the battery. I will reconnect in the morning prior to my usual run out for shopping and will report back the findings.

Looks as though your fingers and expertise combined has solved the problem, Jeff. No episodes of insanity this morning, head unit working fine once again . Many thanks Jeff for your kind response to solve this problem for mew.

I spoke too soon, Jeff, on starting up today it went off and on three times in quick succession even though I was stationary. It shut down again when I hit a pronounced bump but then behaved itself for the rest of the trip. I am not the expert but I am thinking perhaps there is a rather fragile connection somewhere.

Almost certainly if it's going off when hitting a bump it sounds like a loose connection at the head unit or ISO loom connection to the car . I can talk you through this or if you are coming my way we can fix it here Let me know either way. Cheers, Jeff
