Default TC - how it works on the 260

Guys

I may have totally dreamt this, but I thought I'd seen a post on here (but maybe it was the 260s) about when the Traction kicks in on a 260, it cuts the fuel supply?! Surely I must have that wrong?

I thought that on other ZTs and 75s it merely reduces throttle output to the wheels?

Thanks

Andrew

It certainly does hence the need to switch off the traction control on supercharged cars

Yes is sure does, if I pull out of my drive too quick I end up bogging down in front of the oncoming traffic. I now switch it off.

I used to have an Omega V6, this was exactly the same. I don't know how they get approval for this as it is so dangerous.

Default TC on v8

Cheers guys - so definitely not worth it on a v8 then! (or as you say, switch it off if you have the SE model)

There is no permanent switch off, you have to push the button every time you turn on the ignition.

Or remove it from the ZCS coding

If TC is removed from the ZCS coding, the car will assume it's not fitted so yes it will become inoperative.

Poverty spec cars don't have TC after all
