If by ram you mean memory size, then whatever your budget allows, look about and see what deals are going on, cheapest will be 8gb, though standard is 16gb on most, some may have sd card slots to expand and they are cheap as chips. But as for actual ram, with is a bit different, they come with what they come with lol usually 1gb of ram and some now have 2gb of ram but that can't be changed. Your looking for memory (hard drive basically) size and like I say standard is 16gb but some are 8gb, look for 16gb and up if you want to store a few pics and so,e music and so on.

I have the iPad and love it, some wont lol but android tablets, I would go for the above mentioned personally.
I have a ployer branded tablet 9.7in screen excellent resolution and VERY wide viewing angle. Must admit had a few glitches but for little money it's not bad very slim at about 0.8mm with alloy back panel feels quality. Size is fine the wife carried it in her bag on hols only gripe really is lack of GPS not really worried about lack of blue tooth. Storage is16 gb internal and I've added another 32 ,scary to think that my desktop only had that storage back in 2001!
Personally I think the 7in screens are too small

Most of those 9.7 inch 'cheap' chinese tabs use the older iPads screen (which is actually an LG design), so they are decent enough, but they use a very budget CPU, usually a Rockchip or Allwinner CPU and the software is often not very good and they havent been approved by Google. Its worth spending a little more for an approved unit.

Mine has fully authorised google play, I agree I wouldn't buy one without google play
I don't know what others want for a tablet but I use the main computer for serious stuff the tablet just for portability it doesn't need serious computing power

I just bought: 'Samsung Galaxy Tab2 10.1 inch Tablet - Silver (16GB, WiFi, Andriod 4.0)'

Seems to be the best option and matches the phone as well, so apparently if no wifi available I can use my phone as a wifi hotspot....:xmas-smiley-004:

A new year's present to myself :xmas-smiley-031:
