Rover Sports Register Diamond Anniversary: 28th, 29th, 30th June
2013 will be very special for the RSR, as we celebrate 60
years since the club was formed in 1953. We aim to make the Diamond Jubilee Anniversary Rally the biggest and best event the club has ever had, which is a tall order, given the excellence of the Golden Anniversary event in 2003 and the Rover 100 event in 2004. Rover 100 (2004) online entry form Read more: http://www.thersr.co.uk/events/diamo...#ixzz2IRVBOzSG On Saturday, there will be a number of optional activities. Carefully planned road runs to show off all the charms of the surrounding countryside will be available – book for these on the online entry form. In the afternoon there will be two separate Driving Tests – one for the more modern (post vintage etc) Rovers at the Heritage Motor Centre, Gaydon, and a somewhat gentler affair organised by “Robin Kentson” (aka Robin Wilson and Kent Robinson!) at £5 per driver, for the Veteran, Edwardian and Vintage Rovers at the ARFC. Because we have to pay a fair amount to hire the Gaydon arena, the cost per person there will depend on the number of entrants, so at this stage we are asking for numbers on the online entry form, and will advise a final cost, on this website and in Freewheel before the event, once we reach a reasonable number of bookings. The charge will include entry to the Museum. Sunday: Sunday will see the main Rally on the large field in front of Coughton (pronounced Co-ton) Court, the superb National Trust property. NT members have free entry to the imposing Tudor house and all grounds, (except for the Walled Garden for which there is an extra fee). For non-NT members we have obtained a special group entry rate of less than half the normal 2013 rate. Please indicate your preference on the online entry form. So for anyone sated with Rovers, there are many intriguing areas of the site to explore, from the historic house to riverside walks and a variety of gardens. There are even two charming churches (Roman Catholic and Church of England) here. Yet the site is compact – you can see everything comfortably in a day. We look forward to seeing everybody at this milestone event. More details of the event will be published here and in Freewheel in the coming months. We hope that all members will start thinking of the various ways that they can enhance this special occasion, perhaps by bringing ‘special interest’ Rover vehicles, memorabilia and displays. online entry form We hope to have plenty of Rover cycles and motorcycles on show, plus all varieties of Rover cars and derivatives from 1904 to 2005. As always, ‘part finished’ restorations on trailers will be welcome, and might this date give a great incentive deadline for completion and triumphant reveal of all those long-running restorations? Of course, if any members have any ideas for things they would like to see or do at this event, please contact any committee member. There will be stall pitches available for autojumble, parts dealers and restorers etc. to set up in business. Booking for the rally, road run, gala dinner, barbeques and driving tests can be done now on the online entry form EVENT DISCLAIMER Please be aware this is not an official 75 & ZT Owners Club meet and as such is not covered by the Club’s public liability insurance. Also the Owners Club take no responsibility for the meet in any way.

Rover Sports Register Diamond Anniversary Weekend
Having met up with the Rover Sports Register at The Pride Of Longbridge last weekend, I'd like to give this very worthwhile event a free bump.
They tell me all Rover models are welcome, and they would especially like to see some examples from our club attending if possible, so if anyone wants to fly the 75 flag and enjoy a smashing weekend event please do contact them. There are road runs, a Gala Dinner, camping and caravaning available and an informal BBQ. On the Saturday there will be specially organised driving skill tests held at Gaydon Motor Museum, and on Sunday the main Rover Sports Register rally is in the grounds of Coughton Park in Warwickshire Click Here To register for any of the weekend activities, simply click this link to go to their on-line form On-Line Registration Full details of the event can be found on their website here RSR 60th Anniversary Event: Friday 28th June - Sunday 30th This is a Rover Sports Register organised event in association with all JRC participating clubs |

The RSR is the oldest and only club catering for all Rovers, including cycles, motorcycles, cars, Land-Rovers and Marauders. Many of their 'classic' Rover members, also use R40 75s as everyday cars. Their 2010 National Rally had quite a few 75s and ZTs, with local owners forming their own group, within the display. It is a big and varied rally, with much to interest Rover owners and 'classic' vehicles owners, alike.
