As one member on here found out, water getting into the wrong places can be pretty terminal on some Jaguars.

It didn't make a huge difference but was enough to consider it worth the effort.

Did it keep the dirt off the hinges?

It probably helps a little but cleaning the door jambs is part of every wash so hard to say.
I have noticed less dirt around the running board or kick board area.

Also note that I used a stanley knife to add drainage holes where it was covering up existing ones. Just to be sure to be sure

Fought with the bodywork issues on the ZTT - namely the rear of the LH sill rotting through, and the boot lid support tearing through.

Joy of joys...

Heard a grinding noise from the rear brakes so off to Eurocarparts, a new set of Pagid Pads bought and wheels off.............. only to find the discs and pads in place are excellent, so maybe the grind is coming from handbrake she area? never mind, a job for another day. Oh and log book back with engine number change complete

I agree John- diy cars, house etc for years for the reasons you state but in my case need was financially driven as well and still is-not complaining that's the way the cookie crumbles , and also by the early realisation that few British workmen were willing or capable to do more than bang in nails and they wouldn't be straight. Any way I digress, thanks for the PRT info. and I have managed to disconnect the rain sensitive thingy(I understand its a BMW thing)!! today so I have a "proper" intermittent wipe function, much more practical in my world. By the bye my workmen remark applies to French and German as well. Tomorrow to upset all you chaps with great knees I will let a garage change the ATF in the ZT- they will be hyper supervised, and what engineering doombrain thought leaving that job for 60,000miles was acceptable?
