Roof Rail Trim Removal
In the recent heavy rain I noticed that my left hand A pillar was getting damp. I dont have a sun roof so guess its either the windscreen (looks fine) or a problem under the black trim bars set in to the roof.
Any idea how they are fixed / how you remove them? I presume they have sealed ends - or do they have a drain channel down the A pillar?

is this a Tourer or saloon?
If a Tourer. On the inner side in 3 places along the bar is a blanking rubber, I think this folds down. Under it are bolts that hold the bar to a bracket, remove the bolts and the bar will come away. This bracket can also be unbolted. Removing the black strip that runs front to back, gently left the boot end of the strip so you can grab it, pull it rearwards but keep as low as you can, as you pull with a leather gloved finger put it into the hole where the bracket holes are and pull backwards. The strip pulls out Never removed the strip on a saloon, sorry macafee2 |

Thanks. Its a saloon but I'd guess they are similar. It looks like the rear would lift but I can see how the strip is actually held. I guess its just a press fit?

Thanks,
Couldn't find a how to but found this post which includes a picture of the channel with the rail removed. https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...highlight=roof https://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/for...3&d=1555150962 Looks like a lot of sealant with clips down the middle. I've worked a bit of sealant in end of the rail for now but if that doesn't do the trick it looks like teasing it out from the back is favourite.
