Default cant find sat nav software

Hi all i got a chinese radio sat nav from a friend and was fitting it into a rover 2.0tdc tourer which i actually bought as a donor car but decided to do some work on it when i originally fitted it i had the sat nave working or at least it came up my house location as i cant take it on the road it's on a sorne i have not got the radio working yet as i need to buy an areal extension to go to the back of the car as it has the highline system i have been messing around with it as i cant get the cd to work but whatever i have done when i press the sat nav button it comes up "cant find sat nav software"there is a gps card in the machine anyone any idea as to what it could be any input is greatly appreciated

The first thing I would check is the gps card. If you insert it into your computer can it be read and can you see the gps software files?

thanks for your reply,do you mean remove it from the sat nav in the car and insert it into my laptop? if so i cant se anywhere on my laptop i could put it bearing in mind it is a chromebook i have

you should have a sequence to go through on your unit instructions to set up the navigation. together with its own stand alone ariel. you dont say what make it is , as others may be able to give you assistance to set it up. and just to check again if the micro card is the right way over in the head. !!!
