Last flight of Delta lady today 28/10/2015
spent the day down at the local airport today in anticipation of the very last flight of an iconic british aircraft.
At first all the people that had gathered thought we were going to be let down by the weather, which we were when at 10:00 am the heavens opened for around 3 hours, then at 2:00pm the hanger doors opened & xh558's nose came into view. At 2:30 she taxied to the runway & took off into the very grey skies, below are the fruites of my patience. Fantastic pics! I especially like the ones with her going through the clouds and being surrounded by it! You were lucky to be there for the last flight ever!

Stunning pictures, thank you for being there and taking them and then posting them here.
The end of an era.

Minumuts - as stated by others, it's a salute as the last time we lost a beautiful aircraft to the land, Concorde at Heathrow http://www.blodtandsmidigt.com/images/contof290.jpg That amount of water probably equates to the tears shed either in pleasure during shows and at the loss a lot of people feel. |
