New Erisin Android 8.0 - no sound :-(
I unpacked my new unit today and set about removing and replacing the OEM radio. I spent a fair bit of time researching before buying and I'm happy that the unit is value for money and will do eveything I want. I added DAB and a reversing camera to the package.
I plugged the two existing power plugs into the supplied 40-pin connecter and everything works. However, there is no sound from any source. I have no amplifier or other sound equipment in the car so understand that I do not need the RCA cable for any audio purpose, just the reversing camera video input. That leaves the power cable to supply the audio, which the Unit Socket Sketch Map confirms (see pic below). When connecting the two existing 8-pin plugs into the supplied connector, I noticed that they only have around 13 wired pins (forget the exact number). The receiving connector has around 11 wired pins, so there are 2 or 3 wires on the existing harness not being connected. I don't know what effect this will have. As I've mentioned, everything works apart from the sound. Again, please see the pics. You'll see the big socket (#19 Power cable with Special Socket) which I've connected to. There's an extrusion sticking out of the socket at the bottom containing a row of (I think) 20 empty pin-holes. I've no idea why it's there. So I'm stuck! All help gratefully received. Thanks. Dougie.

Wild idea: disconnect the canbus box. I have an xTrons and had no need for the canbus box. I just used the ISO connectors and all was fine.
It would help to know what your original equipment was. Was it LowLine or HighLine? HTH

Thanks for the thought. I omitted to mention that I'd tried that yesterday to no avail. I may have some more understanding of the issue however. (The old radio is as the two pics below.)
I've identified the existing brown connector as being for the speakers, and the black one as being for power and dimming. However, I saw I'd connected both plugs wrongly by 90Ί in the receiving socket due to being physically impossible (so I thought) to connect them any other way due to the plastic prongs extruding. God only knows how everything else powered up as I'd effectively connected sideways. So I removed the prongs and was able to connect both plugs 90Ί round from where they'd been. The brown speakers connector matches perfectly, but the black power connector does not. Needless to say, there is no power to the unit now with or without the Canbus connected. I'm thinking that I'm going to have to swap some pins around but need some confirmation first. The pics below hopefully may help to illustrate the issue. Old radio Existing connectors plugged into new adapter Rear of new adapter (power side) I guess I'll have to test the five wires on the black connector to confirm everything before swapping pins. Am I missing anything obvious? Dougie.

Hi,
It is rather hard to see on these pictures. sorry. Looks like the power connector is not sitting flush in the 40 pin connector. Might it be possible that it is not connected correctly? And what happens if you turn the black ISO connector 180 degrees? You said you had power when they were connected under a 90 degree angle... PS. Should not be necessary to swap pins. The connectors are ISO meaning they are the same as in any other car. Unless a previous owner has been hacking around in there...

The main issue with the power connector is that no matter which way it faces, the male pins on the plug don't line up with the corresponding females on the adapter. I mean, they connect, but it seems clear to me that (e.g.) the yellow Acc feed can never be in position to connect with the Acc feed on the adapter.
