2001 Rover 75
Hello again everyone,
Went and had a look at another Rover 75 today. It has165k on the clockand is a2.5lt V6 petrol motor. The car was in very good condition, interior immaculate, engine ran sweetly and gearbox changes smoothly. There were a couple of things that I thought I would check out first via this website before diving in and making an offer. The belts were changed at 103000km, so can you tell me when they will need changing again. When turning the steering wheel from left to right there is a creak / clunk kind of a noise, seems to be from the steering rack. Any ideas what this might be? The boot has water in the spare wheel well. Is this a common fault, is this a boot seal issue or maybe a rear window seal issue. Seller is open to negotiate on price so just want an idea if I need to spend any further on top of purchase price. Thanks in advance. Last edited by Torque59; 20th November 2016 at 09:00.. |

Hi, belt changes are 6 years or 90,000 miles, water in the boot is common & there are lots of threads on ways to seal it, eg rear window clips, side trims, rear light seals (remove light, the seal may be split, reglue & swap the seals over to the other light, or buy new ones from member Jezza) Hope this gives you some help & good luck
