No harm done gents, I haven't got around to fitting this yet. Totally forgot about the 2 types of fbh and just assumed I had the later model. The model numbers are on the fbh but the 'definitive' identification is the pcb apparently. I'll get a few pics of the pcb when time allows, but in the meantime thanks to all who have responded.

I'm a very busy person, what with eating, sleeping and occasional working. So this is the 'definitive' diagram for the early fbh? Will leave it a few days and have a go.

You need 12v to terminal 3 of the FBH to switch it on, not Earth. Follow the directions in SD1too's post 20.

More confusion, Simon is suggesting the right hand centre terminal on the receiver goes to Pin 3. Steve is suggesting the right hand centre terminal goes to earth. ?

This is what you told us in your post no. 5 Heddy. It seems pretty clear to me! Pin 3 requires 12 v. Ray says the same (post no. 25). What's confusing about that?

There are two different versions of the FBH, one needs an Earth connection to terminal 3, the other needs 12v. You have found that your one needs 12v, so needs wiring as described by SD1too, not Devilish.

I think we can all agree now and put this " simple " thread to bed, Pin 3 is usually already occupied on an early 66232C as it is used as a supplementary heater via Pin 3, leaving Pin 1 as the spare pin to be used as the parking heater with a remote, but with this model both pins take 12v so doesn't make any difference and will work from Pin 3 which Les says is empty and he has already tested
