Decided not to book a table at the Bridge tomorrow as sitting outside to eat if it's chucking it down with rain .....doesn't really appeal

I'm sure I might just turn up for a swift pint (or two) though

All the happiness that used to be

Soon my eyes will close
Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Just go along with whatever your Mum says. I know it’s not the same but it makes life a bit easier for you and your Mum will think you are understanding her.

Life can be cruel at times, even worse in these uncertain days. Now you take care. Look after yourself. We’ll be having that beer along with Roger soon.
I am doing that Bob,and I very much look forward to that day when we get together once again. The three amigos ride again

Strangely enough we had the same, the wife and daughter had veggie sausages, myself and Aidan had the real thing, although he won’t eat mash.

Rich - hang in there. My mum was like that. I particularly remember a very detailed and descriptive "conversation" about her day out in Bourton on the Water "yesterday." Lovely cuppa with a slice of cake in a tea room etc.

It was fine, except that she'd been in a hospital bed in Queen Elizabeth in Brum for several weeks after a stroke.

We just went along with the flow and she was quite content. Other parts of the family just had to keep on "correcting" her which led to serious frustration and grief on her part. But that's a very long story.

Have a good Bank Holiday everyone.
Yeah I’m just humouring her, I have said we are trying to get her some help to build her strength up before she goes home. Wherever the “new” home will be. She always said to me she wouldn’t want to end her days in a home, but the way she is now has left me with no other option. The ward staff say she has a short walk with the physio each day but is still very unsteady on her feet. I know when she needs the loo as she starts wriggling and squirming on the chair, so I called the nurse as soon as she started that today. Some things she understands but no way could I let her go home and live independently again it would be like sending a baby home to fend for itself, to get upon the morning,go to the loo and get into bed with only a visit 3 times a day from a responsible person to give them food and medication. I am not sure how much longer I can keep up this pace before it gets hold of me. Atm I am doing a day’s work, coming home getting a quick wash and change out of. Y work boots then off to hospital for an hour’s visit, then home and not getting my tea until about 8pm. By the time 10.30 comes along I’m virtually asleep.
