It's Dover Castle with a bit of the Western Docks in the background. Yeah I've had them on other cars in the past and have always sealed under them correctly before fitting and then seal the edges all round so water doesn't get inside the gaps behind them. Been on 18 months now with no problems.

Crawled under the tourer to soak the various bolts to prepare for rear arm replacement. It doesn’t look good. The outer bolts look like they’ve been in the sea and I can’t even see the inner captive nuts ! I’ve soaked what I can but might have our friend Dave Johnson take a look to see if he can fit me in in the next couple of months. The Connie has a rattle on the n/s/f and I’ve found a worn bottom ball joint . The arm was replaced by a garage down the road and is supposedly a Moog item and according to their web site has a 3 year guarantee, a local motor factors says 2 years and the garage says only 12 months ! He won’t change it for free and as I paid cash in hand 16 months ago and just under 12,000 miles I’m quite annoyed. I’ve ordered another from DMGRS and I’ll change it myself next week and I won’t use the garage again. I only used them for an mot as Dave Johnson was booked for months !

Decided to have a look at the Diesel this afternoon in the garage. Not tried starting it for around 3/4 weeks, so gave it a whirl. Started on the button straight away. Put the eberspacher on to warm it up quick, and let it run for around half an hour at varying revs. Still no rust on the disc’s after 10 months in the garage. The dilemma is fast approaching when I must make up my mind which I will keep; the Connie petrol, or the diesel. Hard to make up my mind.

SO driving up to work the other day, I started getting a grinding noise from the brakes, and there was a rubbing Nosie coming from the rear of the car....
SO as I was heading into work, I dropped the car off at a tyre centre and they called me to let me know that the drivers brake calliper had seized. They then let me know that I need a new brake calliper, Pads and disks, and the brake fluid had heated up and had gone a dark colour. Cost me 310 euros all in for new rear pads and brake calliper.

Playing detective...
The boot water leak has been whittled down to the right hand side.. light seal removed cleaned and replaced, and all areas washed and dried, lets see what the weekends weather brings.. I will find you... I will stop you.

Front end stripdown by Terrified newbie
In preparation for a visit from a mobile air conditioning service to replace my condenser I have stripped off front bumper, slam panel and fan shroud to allow easy access to the condenser which seems to have a small leak, certainly that was the diagnosis by the technician and where the green dye was emerging from. I am extremely grateful for the great How To's which I am sure many have benefitted from by Arctic and Mike on the relevant subject areas which I have used a combination of both. I was relieved to find that I could remove the slam panel without disturbing the bonnet locking mechanism and this made the process much cleaner. My only issue so far has been shearing a headlight bolt which started to come out and then snapped with surprisingly little force being applied. I thought the broken end of the bolt would come out with an extractor but true to form with such things the extractor snapped and is stuck in the bolt! A little annoying but not a drama. At least with the slam panel off the car I can use a mini grinding bit to attack the broken piece of extractor to help prise it out. If this doesnt work I could of course replace the entire slam panel with a second hand spare. This looks a daunting job when you see other peoples photos but I have been relieved to find that it was within my limited capability.
