Default why i've not been on much in the last week. (nearly lost my son)

on wedneday last week i nearly lost my 9 year old son . he was rushed to broomfield hospital chelmsford when his appendix burst. he just about survived the night . on thursday he was transferred to the royal london hospital london to have emergancy surgery at a specialist unit there.my wife has been with him since he was transferred.
i am happy to say that the op. went o.k. and he is slowly recovering . i spoke to him on the phone yesterday and i still can't believe how brave he has been.
it has been a really hard few days and has been a very big shock .
the docters say he may return home late this week as he is making a quicker than expected recovery.

i am still emotional about it all . it suddenly makes you realise how fragile and precious life really is.

My son was 18 when a similar thing happened, I can understand how helpless you feel just like i did.

It was a time of reflection for me as well, how fragile our lives are and how easily somebody who seems full of energy and life can be taken away.

It is a cruel world that takes your children and on this occasion we have both avoided it, some people are not so lucky .

I now look back on this period of our lives as a time of appreciation of what we have, I hope it is the same for you and yours in the coming months/years

Very glad to hear he has pulled through. It is a shock when we are pulled up short by life threatening illness. Every day is a bonus, be thankful, I know I am.
