wheel judder acceleration from start
Hi,
On hard acceleration from still in first gear, often there is quite a bit of harsh judder from the front end. As if the power can't be put down through the wheels. Judder doesn't happen at other times. Also seems to be a bit more vibration though the steering wheel than before, almost like a throbbing (not constant) What do you think is causing that? 2004 cdti manual with 78k on clock. |

Lower engine mount most likely.

Although it was my first thought and recommend it is checked, when mine went it wrong was fine under hard acceleration from standing which is what the op says is happening. It only played up when moving off slowly.
Does it sound/feel as if the exhaust is thumping the body when you pull away? If it does then this too points to the lower engine mount. macafee2 |

I was thinking it could be the lower front wishbones or bushes maybe as I'm sure that's what starting wearing on a previous 75 I had. Last edited by peelaaa; 10th May 2021 at 13:37.. |

Steering straight ahead, place foot on wheel and push see if there is any movement. Rev. |
