Default Front brake sticking on.

Help. My 75 has just had rear disks pads and flexi's plus a new pipe on front drivers side for mot. But since then the front drivers side is sticking on. I've cleaned slides and pads are free moving. It stops fine with no vibration but after words the brake sticks on till it wears off again. It's obviously putting heat into the disk and there is a vibration whilst this is happening. I commute 30 miles and the alloy is hot when I get to work. My thought is a damaged flexi or caliper causing the piston not to back off or could the garage have caused a abs fault whilst bleeding. I did wonder about a warped disk but there's no wobble except directly after breaking. Any words of wisdom please.

Might have some air in the caliper. I'd try taking the caliper off (but not the brake pipe) fully retract and extend the piston (a g clamp works really well here, you can use it to depress the piston and use it as a stop so the piston doesn't pop out) then apply a little pressure and bleed a little fluid from the caliper. I did this with a rear caliper and it worked a treat, no more sticking

Does anyone know if all calipers are the same between engines and years. Going to fit a replacement from a breakers tomorrow and then recondition the current one.

Yes they are the same, except the V8 and the 190 which have the larger callipers to accommodate the 325mm discs, and replacement seals and pistons if required can be found on ebay from bigredbrakes

Cheers. Bit the bullet and bought a new caliper. Touch wood that seems to be the car fixed now. I traded in a breakers calipers so will have a go at servicing the old one now.
