Side impact crash sensor -99. Available somewhere?
Hi,
Issue: - Water ingress due to clogged plenum drains, filled passenger footwell (LHD) and drowned airbag/side impact crash sensor. - Airbag light on, TOAF throws fault code 9144 - Side senor right - communication error. - Diagnose: Opened plenum drain, dried out footwell, need new sensor. Anyone know where I can source this sensor for the earlier model? There are a few on the Ebay but price or shipping cost (Norway) are sky high. Some of them also seems to have been in contact with water. All help greatly appreciated |

Hi,
Thanks for the link. Can not find any place to check out the item on that website... Anyone shopped from there earlier? Regarding pat numbers, I assume I need the YDB 100310 but have not visually inspected the sensor on this car yet. Are the right and left sensor the same? |

Yes the sensors are the same left / right.
Also curious about the early Rover 45 sensors, and note that Rimmer's have them in stock much cheaper than the currently out of stock early 75 sensors. Keep well |

I think I still have one on the old car I'm dismantling, do you want me to check?

I'll have a look tomorrow when I get back from my daughters place, got to fix her gate for her. TBH, I've got to look up what exactly I'm looking for, but shouldn't be a problem. And it is only postage to where you are, I'll get back to you when I find the part.

I have both sensors as in pic. Grey wire is LHS, blue wire is RHS, complete with screws. Checking on our Royal Mail website, postage to Norway ia3-5 days, tracked to delivery @ £6.90; not tracked @ £1.85; with a max weight of 2kg.
I've weighed various combinations, from 1 sensor through to both sensors with connectors etc, max weight is70dm, and an old Jiffy bag is 10 gm, so weight is well under 2kg. There are many restrictions (mostly irrelevant) apparently listed on the Norway Post site, some mention car parts and electronics, but I think these would be ok? Check if you like. If you want the lot how does £10 + postage sound? Stewart. |
