Zed tried a different mode of transport

Zed had a very exciting day. In fact he was so excited about the prospect of a train ride that he fell over while I was taking this picture.

Here is Zed on the train with his ticket.

... and sitting comfortably in his seat

At one of the stations there was a model train layout that Zed thought was very good, although the trains seemed to go round in circles without actually stopping anywhere.

And here's the engine changing ends at the terminus

Zed wasn't quite so impressed with this diesel train on the other track, although it was still 'vintage'.

and finally, back at the station where we had set out from... a very nice day out

I’ve been on that railway a few times over the years.

At least Zed is getting out and about. Working off that winter fat.

Zed is still enjoying himself here in Essex.
The weather has been very hot, although it is cooler and raining just now.
Anyway, today a parcel arrived and Zed is very interested to find out what's in it. I will help him to open it and let you know later on:
