Door handle surround, temp fix?
The dreaded chrome surround is hanging off my interior handle. Is there a temp fix until it goes to Chris for its service? (I wouldn't attempt door card removal) It's driving me mad every time I open the door falling off!

Mine came loose about ten years ago. I put Blu Tac on the little prongs and pushed it back. It hasn't moved since. I know it's crude but nobody can tell!

I dabbed some Bostik on both the flat parts that push into the handle assembly and refitted , then put a pencil behind the handle to push against the chrome ring then left over night. No problem since.

My fix, no need for door card removal, just the fixing screw, then ease off still connected. You can get a drill into the edges and fit screws

It's the driver's side Dave. If someone has one and could do it there, I would be eternally grateful. Happy to pay, if I know how much to bring! The Blu Tac for now sounds like a plan

I used araldite after unhooking it. (Just 4 drops from a cocktail stick - allow to set - replace )
