Energy
According to a famous TV economist the energy rates are about to change in customers’ favour. He says, for those on non-smart meters, take a reading and submit it before 1st April to benefit. He advises that failure to do this could mean subsequent changes to price tariffs might not be applied.
My provider has now gone off-line and is unable to accept any communications via my account or in any other way. They say “Something has gone wrong, try again later”. Now I admit I might occasionally have slight paranoiac tendencies, but......

That information is correct Ray,rates do indeed change on April first.I've had an email asking me to submit a gas meter reading taken on April 1st and the electricity will be taken by smart meter (which I inherited)..There is normally an automated meter reading tel number you can call as well if you cannot submit a reading online.

The last twice I have submitted a reading, Eon have said that I am in arrears in excess of £1,800. The first took 4 months of argument, the second a little less - they must have a bug in their system just like the Post Office! I do take readings every couple of weeks for my own purposes so I can work out my own bills - it is less traumatic! I should add that I have always paid at least the estimate, which is why I argued each time. Not sure I trust Smart meters., so haven't switched.

Just done ours as the "smart" meter is not communicating with our internet connection! We have been complaining about this for a couple of years now! A BG engineer turned up unannounced, so the wife sent him away as she doesn't let anyone in (even in a BG uniform and driving a BG van!). We are still waiting for them to offer an appointment!

My providers have a yard of cheek. In spite of the 'something went wrong, come back later' I have just had a request for my verdict on their 'service'. Naturally I lied with false praise. Pressed 'send' and it was accepted. Then started again to see my balance. "Something went wrong, come back later". Funny, that.
