I would much sooner see single carriage A Road speeds increased for Lorries from 40 to 50, if you spend as much time as I do on the A17 and A47 you would understand.
The frustration of endless miles at 40 causes more idiots on the road.

By all means increase the limit to 80, although this makes me think they will just be harder on speeders (Above 80) |

Even the cameras are set to the exact limit! They argue that speedometers over read so you should always be on the right side of the limit. The autoroute says 110kph when raining but I wonder if the 130kph cameras know this? |

I think ALL new roads should be built 'one way' only.
With all others converted where possible. At the moment, with two cars doing 60 mph in opposite directions, they can hit one another at 120 mph. All 'one way' and the potential accident speed is 60 mph max. |

50mph +(upto) 44t + 18yrs old + 0 experience = 100% disaster. And of course not all A roads are the same. 80mph on the motorway is good though, if you ever get out of the 50mph, average speed checked roadworks that is Gaz |

I read in a paper today that 'they' were thinking of reducing motorway speeds to 50 - to help people economise with the rise in fuel prices etc etc. There goes the idea of a reduction in fuel tax then
Huh, 80mph..... what use is that to anyone! Why not make it unlimited and then we can all pay more tax? |
