Need for service display
Can the message " oil service due" only be removed by a diagnostic tool?

Easiest way is with a service reset gizmo, loads on Ebay. Can also be done by bridging pins 4 & 8 in the OBD socket, scroll down this page and you'll see a how to. The service reset gizmo basically does the same thing in a more sophisticated way!

Need for service display
Tried to access the information but told I should be logged on first. I thought I was! Not sure which are the 4 and 8 🎳 and for how long I should connect them for!

Don,
For the small amount of money that a resetting tool costs, don't mess about with shorting pins, particularly as you're going to be doing this more than once. Simon

I'm not a fan of it myself, just giving the option.

Shorting pins can cause big problems if you touch the wrong ones. A mate with his BMW accidently shorted pins and his car thought it had crashed, dealer only reset at £450.
