Default Haynes meet......... very important

Hello all

Over the past couple of weeks we have been talking with a company who would like to film the Haynes meet on hi-res cameras as part of a training exercise. After a couple of false starts the end result is positive for the club. They will be filming all aspects of the meet with a view to making a ten minute film which will be available through the owners club website. If there is enough material shot on the day its possible that a DVD will become available showing the meet, the aims of the club and interviews. The main emphasis on the day will be for training and experience gained by the cameraman and also for the editing training in the coming weeks after the meet.

This was offered to the club and we felt that it was a good opportunity to show exactly what meets entail and our aims for the future of the club etc. This is all being done with nil cost to the club by the way so you can see why we were eager to grab the opportunity.

There are a couple of things that we would like to mention.

1/ Its possible that you will never see the camera but if you do please act naturally and just carry on with what you are doing. In other words don't react to the camera at all.

2/ Please don't shout "hello mum" as this will result in film being lost and totally unusable to both the company and the owners club.

3/ If its raining hard (please no) there will be no filming at all as the end product would be useless and the cameras are too expensive to get wet or damp and its not worth taking the risk.

4/ Haynes themselves are very happy for filming to take place and have agreed as such.

Very important

If there is anyone going who does not want to be filmed for whatever reason please let us know on the day or better still by pm to me prior to the day. Its the same with Reg plates if someone does not want their reg plate shown please tell us and we will ensure that your car will not be filmed at all if the reg plate can be seen. Can we ask though that if possible please keep these objections to a minimum as we would like as much material to be available for the editing stage and if there are too many objections the whole project may not happen.

We hope that this meets with your approval as we have worked hard to make this happen, we have not mentioned it before as we were not sure it could go ahead but we are now confident it will happen.

Cheers

Ken

Only a suggestion, but has anyone thought of contacting one of the TV car shows aswell?
JC is not on my christmas list but what about one of the Sky Channels, men & motors.....or maybe Fifth Gear?? so long as they send Tiff and keep Vicky H B away I will be happy!!

And before you suggest it...id love to... but, I''m REALLY busy at the moment...no really I am.

Not for this one Jamie but who knows for the next perhaps? We need to get firmly established before going in that direction but now this is our fourth then perhaps that could be a future option.

Okey dokey.....
I managed to get my last restoration project on the BBC2 working lunch a couple of years ago.....it was a scream...the wife hated the car with a vengence but when the cameras came she had her hair done put on her best shoes...and polished the roof of the car for the cameras Ha ha ha ha....and I thought I was vain!
