Default Radio Code

Had to change the battery today (hoping that the battery is at fault - does appear to be engraved '06 - rather than the alternator, but that's for another day). I got the handbook, but no security card, with the car. The radio code is not in the handbook. With my last Volvo, ringing the local dealers secured the code in about 30 secs. Anyone know any obliging Rover dealers? Would current MG dealers even have access to old 75 data? Plenty of radios also have the code written on them of course. How does the Symphony slide out? I can't see any holes for the usual 2-pronged puller. Thanking anyone and everyone in advance......

The Symphony radio was not coded at the factory, and if yours is coded this would have been done at the dealer.

It won't be on any databases unfortunately as this would have been carried out at the original owners request.

"Thanks Brian" - I think...... LOL . (Odd then that the handbook (p3) says a code is on the card will need to be entered every time the power is disconnected, but there do seem to be plenty of quirks with these cars. Makes things fun doesn't it.)

You could try making an enquiry at an Xpart Dealer ? Can't hurt
As Brian said , Symphonys were not usually coded by default. Is yours actually displaying an "enter code" message ?

Is it definitely a Symphony fitted Darren? the Harmony radios always had a code, but it is rare to find a Symphony with an active code......

A Harmony can be found cheaply enough.......LINK

Ahem.....looks for hole to sink in to. I just "expected" the note in the handbook to refer to all fitted radios and .... errr ..... didn't try it. Yes it is a Symphony. No it doesn't need a code (as you knew all along). Thanks chaps!!!!!! :-)
