Default key Battery

Hi

I've not used my car for a number of months, and the key remote was struggling to work. (or not working at all from the start)

Do the key batteries charge when in the ignition barrel (like more modern cars) or do I need to look at replacing the key battery? In which case, what batteries do they take.

Oddly when I got the 2nd key, the led wouldn't even light, (the first was dim) and it worked, and then both worked!

Anyway, I moved the car and washed it, and clayed and waxed the bonnet and boot lid

Lever lid off, by prising near the key ring

EDIT: Feb'21 - Niether key really working to unlock car. Battery fitted (from RS, Pre 2012) to unbranded key
