The snow that was falling was being whipped up by a high wind causing a lot of drifting problems, the North Berwick branch was shut due to a build up of snow in a cutting. Had to go across to Glasgow to get a pair of class 37s and the big independent ploughs (see below) to patrol around here

Great pic Steve I should put a ticket in to TSW3 & suggest a snow plough scenario on the Fort William-Mallaig line

Just been mincing a load of diced pork shoulder & belly pork that I got off the reduced shelf at ASDA for pies/sausages duties Time for an apple juice as it's hard work grinding that by hand.
Just started chucking it down here.

I have no claim to the pic, found it on the net and used it to illustrate the 37s and ploughs. Behind the ploughs you can see nowt, peering along the side of the plough through the outside 3-4" of the windscreen and the outside 3-4" isn't really covered by the sweep of the wiper which doesn't do you any favours. Hit a snow drift and everything disappears anyway. Bringing the ploughs from Glasgow along the E&G there were passengers at most of the stations . . . . and snowdrifts at most of the platforms Blowing the horn like bugry to try to get them to stand well back, I don't think we buried anyone with snow! One reason for bringing the ploughs across was the North Berwick branch, there's a deep cutting that was in the process of filling with snow drifting off the fields.

There's a young black & white cat with similar markings to Fliss that comes to peer inside the conservatory door regular.
Made some sausage rolls topped with sesame seed to see if the different minced pork cuts I got from the ASDA were any good, Mmmmmm! Bootiful

Evening all from Tichfield ,fishing weekend is nearly over,I have retreated back to the hotel for a wash and scrub up and feeding and watering, son still fishing until 10 am Sunday morning,he is still in with a chance of winning, its between him and 3 others,he needs to catch a carp of at least 29lbs to have a chance,so its fingers crossed,me I am happy to look at the evening menu over a beer or 2.

Soon I'll find repose
And in dreams, you're always near to me

I'll see you in my dreams
And then I'll hold you in my dreams

Finally got around to doing the cambelt and water pump on the freelander, much easier and better access than a 75, celebrated with a kebab from the take away
