Providing the MOT is prebooked you can drive it there and back on SORN as long as its insured. From .gov web site https://www.gov.uk/sorn-statutory-off-road-notification Usually the MOT will appear on line by the time your home so you can tax it the same day on line . Lubricated all the locks with graphite powder. Lubed all the door hinges, bonnet releases and catches. Polished the air con pipes. Removed all the leaves, straw and twigs that gather in the usual places , checked all the fluids, tyre pressures and exhaust. Phew! Time for a cuppa!

Hi Scott. I spent about half a hour late last night looking on the DVLAwebsite to find out what I had to do, and found out exactly what you say. What a rigmarole though, to find out. Hope to get it rolling for July.

I took the opportunity of the dry spell to finally apply Capt. Tolleys crack cure to the rear window trip clips, hopefully this will have cured the drips!

Ever wish you hadn’t done something!!
Thought I would take advantage of the nice weather and clean the slightly orange tinged patch behind the OSR jacking point........Now I have a 3”x 2” hole which I’m go to have to weld up!!

After work (work in a garden centre was bedlam today). Washed down the connie and took my time (unlike the mondeo that barely got a look at a wash) and must say she does clean up well.
Other reason was to check rear lights for leaks aswell as plenum for flooding etc, results all good. Also noticed around my area in Burnley, in the mondeo people are happy to try and touch mirrors, but in the rover people seem to try and avoid it. So all good. |

Started to take a look around the newest, and probably the last🤔 of my rover acquisitions.
2006 diesel auto, connoisseur se, primertallic 🙄, with 26.5k on the clock. 3 former owners, 2 whom were husband and wife, who I think have only owned for about 3 years. Although it had been “serviced recently”, I thought I should do my own service, to be sure. Went to rod out the plenum, but couldn’t find the hole.... A bit of poking later and all was revealed and cleaned out. Pollen filter wast too bad, and surprisingly no tide marks, but changed anyway. Same as the air filter, which was also changed. Then changed the fuel filter, crankcase breather filter, oil filter and oil change, and lastly the windscreen wipers. Mrs 75 driver also leant a hand and removed the remnants of some tacky stickers.😱 Next on the to do list: - sort out the dodgy wiring (scotch lock connectors) on the rear drivers cluster, which has been modified to accommodate a tow bar, but is bringing on a fault light on the dash. - getting the parking sensors working - find out why the “P” led on the gear selector only lights up intermittently - check why the warning sounder doesn’t work - change out the armrest cubbyhole inset, which looks as though a battery has melted inside it.🤔 - fit a gold resistor - fit an in line thermostat - replace alloys - fit an actual hardboard liner in the boot. Enough to crack on with I suppose.😬 On the plus side, it has power folds, which seems to be the only “SE” thing about it.😳 I guess it was last throw of the dice when it was being cobbled together. It doesn’t have the upgraded instrument pack, cruise control, or a 6cd changer in the boot. Also, strangely it has (what I would call) ZT material on the door card inserts. 🤔 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
