Default Water Dripping From The Transmission Tunnel

Hi all, being new to owning a V8 and having just taken her for a blast, I've noticed a pool of water dripping from the transmission tunnel area. The water's cold and doesn't feel like it's got antifreeze in it. I didn't have the air con on but had the temps turned to lo.
My first thoughts was condensation from the air con.

Any ideas?

Your thoughts are correct.
You often find a small pool of water when parking after having had the Air Con/Climate Control running.
All OK.
Not normally there without the Air Con on though. Did you have it set to Auto?

Thumbs up

Hi jdc

I thought it was codensation but I found it strange when the a/c wasn't on. I didn't have it on auto either.
It's definatly not cooling water as I've just checked the level and nothings moved.

I'll just keep an eye on it

Andy

Plenum drains clear? Had you just washed the car before the blast?

Hi guys.

Took the her out today and made sure no A/C or climate was turned on and no drips, so it must have been condensation.

I haven't washed her for about a week so I'm fairly confident it's not the drains.

Regards

Always do a Regular check on the plenum Drains.
If it gets waterlogged you are looking at a ECU with a cost of up to £1000.

yes I can only urge you to check them, in future I will be, when I get mine back and I have handed over a serious wedge of cash!

260 ECU is not located in the vulnerable position above the lower plenum drain as is the case for all other derivatives.
In total agreement re. checking regularly, my last check revealed one tiny leaf fragment in the drain which was slowing the flow enough to have caused a problem in heavy rain. I noticed the problem after washing the car and then moving into garage. Drain still dripping the following morning.

correct GG. also the holes in the plenum drains are tiny compared to the other models, so it is important to regularly reamm them out .
