infra red/steering controls removal

Hi guys,
i have one of the new double din units and the steering controls wonnt work as with th eunit i used to have was infra red.
Can the infra red be removed so as i can wire in the controls?

Bolted to the bracket behind the head unit is the Infra red interface box with Light Green/White, Blue/Purple and Black cables. The Blue/Purple and Black are the steering wheel control cables.

raykay I really should get out more....... Now Other Manufacturer Join Date: Nov 2006 Location: Co.
