De-doghairing is going to be a professional job, got it off the seats with a hoover & brush attachment but the seats need shampooing and the black carpets are grey, he had a mainly white Spaniel! Interior really needs a valet, to coin a Scottish word, it's mingin'!

In the meantime I'll stick it in the garage, future undecided. Enquired with my insurers (Hastings) about multi car insurance, they all advertise it, quoted an eye watering £948 . . . . car number 2 starts off with zero NCB, £31 to amend the existing policy seems like a better option.

Having eaten one of Derek's speciality breakfasts the other day (admittedly with a coating of mustard on top of the Marmite) I have now formed the EOFMATE Club (Equal Opportunities For Marmite And Toast Eaters).
UKIP have agreed to include us in their manifesto, and there will be an initiation ceremony for all new members which involves a leather apron, a small jar of Marmite and a red hot poker (to mull the Marmite you understand!)

Happy new car Steve - I hope it gives you many miles of happy motoring!
Now that you're a ZT man rather than a 75, does that mean you're retiring your pipe, slippers and flat 'at ??

Car is booked for a valet next Wed, earliest I could get with a quality valeter. Frustrating, want to give it a good wash and brush up, do a bit more cleaning inside, freshen it up if nothing else, kinda smells of damp mutt but rain is persisting down.

Re insurance, what I'll do is park the 75 then when the insurance is due I'll hunt around for somebody who insures two cars for a sensible price, unless somebody makes me a silly offer. Used to have insurance with the motorbikes, covered all bikes I owned, the one I was driving had full cover, those not being used had fire & theft, if I took another out the full cover transferred to that one etc. I'm the only driver, why do I need full cover on both cars, if I could drive them both at the same time I'd be on telly

Steve someone out there will mirror the bonus you currently have for another policy just dont forget to reduce your mileage on the car you will use less...

I've just had a horrible day in work with insurance. Half called in sick (sus the friday before a bank holiday!) and I ended up on the phones taking calls. Most of our book is young drivers with no sense looking for quotes to change to cars they can't afford or who give you grief because its your fault they defaulted on their payments

Recent stats from my euro road trip: 1605 miles driven through 5 different countries, 160.7 litres of diesel used giving an MPG of 47.1. Total diesel cost €222, €0.13 per mile
