mystery. Having just done the hand brake mod I found this rubber piece under the car. Has anybody any idea where it came from? If indeed it is part of the 75.

Easy....

Directly below the compensator, is a hole (well more of a slot), fitted with a rubber blanking plug. That plug is the one in your photo.

In my first attempt to carry out the mod, I investigated removing the compensator via that access point, it would have been do-able, had I been able to disconect the cables - but my figers were too big and I could not manage it. I think someone else did manage it on a four post lift.

Anyway, you should be able to refit it from below, without lifting the carpet again - assuming your exhaust is not in the way.

Fix a poor handbrake; DIY ABS diagnostic unit; Loan of the spanner needed to change the CDT belts; free OBD diagnostics +MAF; Correct Bosch MAF cheap; DVB-T install in an ex-hi-line system; DD install with a HK amp; FBH servicing.

I've taken a vow of poverty. To annoy me, send money.

ARCTIC: on reflection I probably dislodged the rubber gasket when using a
hacksaw blade to cut the small section of carpet. I certainly didn't notice but luckily found it when i moved the car afterwards. It took me five minutes to refit it from underneath the car. It is amazing how much road noise enters the car above 35mph with the gasket missing.

I didn't have to cut any carpet to do this - all you need is someone with strong arms to fold the carpet back upon itself, an then two stout bars to prop the carpet up whilst you replace the compensator. The carpet is very heavy and keeps trying to fold back into place whilst you are working under it.

Default Compensators need to be returned for this mod to work.

Hi wilson. (firefrost)
received the returned compensator this morning i also received one with out no forum or proper name please when you send them back put your forum name on the back or inside so i know from whom it as came, it came in a light envelope with NE31 on it as in pic below.

I must also ask can we try to get these sent back asap as the modifiction as now come to a stand still i am waiting on 10 compensators all my original items i managed to put together with help from some kind memebers are out some going back as far as late October- early November.

I also have a waiting list of 6 whom untill the compensators are returned can not have this mod i therefore ask if you have a modified compensator please try to fit it within a week i know this may not be posible in some cases but all help is most appreciated.

(Names are on my list of returns still to be sent back may get a reminder email in the next few days )

All the best Arctic.
