Hoofed the ZT home from a job, ran it up onto the ramps, and dumped the oil.

While it drained, I consumed steak and chips as dished up by my beloved missus, and after tea refitted the sump plug, covered the alternator and removed the old filter, cleaned out the housing, then fitted new filter and o rings, lubed the o rings with clean oil, then refitted the housing lid.

Decanted 6.75 litres of nice fresh lube oil from my 20 litre can into two smaller containers then refilled the engine.

I then removed the engine cover, unclipped two spill pipe tee and replaced the PCV filter after removing the air cleaner housing cover and vacuuming the gunge out of the bottom and replacing the cleaner element.

All fitted back together, I then removed the EWS, fitted one which arrived in the post after I'd programmed a transponder for a spare slot, and fitted the ECM which came with it...............no start

So after a bit of ECM frabblement, the car burst into life, so after checking for leaks, and a cup of coffee I headed back to complete a job in my "real life" business.

The repaired ECM has now covered 26 miles, I have a longish run out to sort out a machine on Wednesday, which will be the only running this ECU set will get, as tomorrow's little task is a rear subframe replacement, along with new upper arms, and refurbished lower arms......that is after the replacement of the rose joint which has the bolt seized in it

Now that is a surprise

Brian

Quick quote to say I gave the wheel centres a final clear coat yesterday and today at some time they will be going back on the NUK.

What paint did you use for the wheel centres? I need to do mine soon.

Fitted a new turbo pipe to the Connie or should that be pipes as I had to cut it in half because of the turbo boost sensor. Not a drop of blood was spilled as I cut away with my blunt Stanley knife with my tongue sticking out

The tourer is currently in Tom Hobbs operating theatre having her sills attended to

Default Oxford leather seats

today I decided to scrub up my cream leather seats, at somepoint they were very poorly dye painted in a horrible cream colour, you could still see the brush stroke marks on all the seats, anyway armed with a bar of vanish soap, some jif cream, and a sink scrubbing sponge,i managed to remove the horrendous dye covering the beautiful Oxford leather underneath, it has taken me two days of hard graft, to get it back to its original condition, and even though there are a few scuff marks on the drivers and passenger seat,i am delighted with the result
