Default screaming TEB7AS relay

The TEB7AS relay used to operate trailer electrics has started screaming?
Any idea why? what he cause and fix could be?
The trailer is not plugged in. Not had an issue before and its been there for a few months.

I could cut all the wires, fit a terminal bock and then fit a new relay but cant face doing that if there may be a know cause and solution.

It could be corrosion on the inside at the back of the 7 pin connector shorting out between the pins.

possible but as its been quite hot these last couple of days, I would have thought any water would have dried out but then inside the relay, is in the shade.

Has it been wired to a permanent live rather than an ign live, if so it will have probably burned out, I have seen a couple do this.

yes it has. I found that if ignition live with ignition off I'd have no rear lights or hazard warning lights, not good in the dark if broken down. The wiring diagram shows permanent live

Thank you for the pointer

The thought of changing it deflates me
