And the dump valve noise can be made by stabbing a tyre...

And it would probably get it down to an authentic Scoobie level of fuel consumption.

I believe it is similar to why a Harley Davidson has that wonderful “off beat” sound. To help with power delivery in pulses the HD is set up not as a twin cylinder in balance - but so that the two cylinders fire close together, and then a longish gap then they fire close together again.

This pulsing power helps traction apparently.

I have always understood that Subaru’s do something similar. Anyone with better knowledge than me on this re the Subaru - please correct this if I am talking spherical objects !

Why would anyone do that to a Honda Accord?

That's just... odd. I think the ZT has a look of Subaru in it, especially in trophy blue, but the owner of this 600 could have just put an XPOWER livery on it and nobody would bat an eyelid. It'd probably look half decent too. My theory is that this was used on the Benidorm or bust rally, if you look at some of the cars from that they're jokingly decorated too.

Me thinks it was a very convincing car salesman (sorry salesperson) that sold them the Subaru 600.
