Well done! i'm in the same boat - even though I had a very nice immaculate free Vauxhall Convertible to run around in, and I don't do many miles - I went out and bought a 2004 facelift diesel Tourer Contemporary SE! Could not resist it, and all I've done since is spend money on it..clean it up...polish the lights...bought a rear sub-frame just to get the upper suspension arms...new tyre...new dash cam...new stereo / sat nav...crank case breather kit...oil change & filter...new air filter...bent bit of plastic that's supposed to be a facia adaptor (is it meant to be warped?)...new wiper blades...and more. And I'm a poor pensioner on a very low state pension!!
I've owned and driven dozens and dozens of cars since 1978, and this car has got me more excited than almost all the rest (OK, the M5 was a bit special, as was the v12 BMW...and the Colt Galant turbo new for £5850 was a bit of a bargain..) Must have something to do with getting old, but no, it's more to do with buying good quality and amazing value for money! Can't wait to get mine remapped and off to south of Spain... |

Wet rear footwell could be the sunroof drain. It's not an uncommon problem - original bad design. I've rubbed chainwax into the felt seal around my (working) sunroof and my rear carpet has dried out. The sunroof opens and shuts and seals again.

Well, spent a little time today on the car, rear light seal broken, as diagnosed, repaired and sealed, checked lights and found that when sidelights are on found that nearside light was lit but not offside but the brake light was lit. read handbook and found that is what it should do if a tail light is out. This is going to be long learning curve,
But on the plus side, I also have driven and owned various old and new cars, but this one is possibly the best drive of the lot. |
