Default bought one

Well I have gone and done it, bought one. It is a 2004 cdti 135 in cimmaron green with sandstone leather, it looks a bit rough around the edges but drives really well, one front tyre seems to be wearing on the outside of the tread and the sunroof wont open.but everything else seems to work. there is a bit of water in the boot and the passenger side rear footwell is wet, could this be the rear light seals?.
only picked it up this afternoon so no time to check it out properly but do know two jacking pads are missing.
only short mot but at £500 we shall see how it goes.
thank you all for your invaluable help.

Welcome to the slippery slope Boot water could indeed be the seals, either fit new from Jezzer, or remove, glue the seam which has invariably split, & refit.

I had some water in boot, took inside cover off rear lights poured some water over outside light, found 1st leak. Replaced seals, cured. Then i removed boot carpet and rolled out a few sheets of kitchen roll in boot. Found 2nd leak lower r/h side of rear window. At the moment i have placed some gorilla black tape along bottom of window, that has cured leak, for now, but intend doing a proper job of it shortly. There is a how to on here somewhere to clean rear window sealing.

great colour combination. if you have a light oak dash fit walnut, it looks so much better

I've been trying to find my boot leak for almost a year... I can't find it no matter how hard I try.

Definitely fit a walnut dash. It's a fiddly job but very easy and it really really improves the look of the interior.

Here is mine before, with the light oak

And after the dash was installed , makes a massive difference.

Mind out there's no mould in the boot, there was with mine and I just gutted it, if I ever find the leak I'll reinstall boot carpets.

Yes dash does make a big difference but I think I have other things to do first before tackling that. the boot is not mouldy and the boot carpet appears dry, it seems wet under the boot floor and in spare wheel well and rear passenger side footwell..
