And I bet it looked a sight better than the one you took off Sean, in as much as it hadn't been dredged from the bottom of the Marianas Trench.

Note to oneself, next time I change upper rear arms, make sure the box with the replacement springs in it, contain more than one spring

For my own car, I removed the spare wheel, and refitted the one which had a puncture repaired on Saturday.

Yeah, it was pretty poor. Also thought I found the source of the slight knock.
The spring had punctured its way through the top rubber mount.

Unfortunately this wasn’t the cause.
I think it’s a loose bit of trim....somewhere, but sitting in the boot while the other half took me for a spin didn’t pinpoint it.🙄
I’ll nail it next week.😬😬

Have you taken the "spare" out yet to try that Sean? it's the only thing I could think of

Yes, tried that and several other things that felt as if movement could make a slight tapping sound..
- removed boot load tray
- secured fixing on underside of rear bumper
- taped up any cables in both the boot and boot lid that may have been able to knock of the body.
- wedged bits of rubber between bumper and wheel arch trim
- removed and wedged a bit of cloth between the trim behind the rear seat and the chassis fixing point.

It may be due to what you mentioned on Friday morning ...the missing pin through the backplate?
Ran out of time to check this today as I thought I’d try the easy things first.😬
I’ll check that next week.
FIL thinks it’s the exhaust, but I gave that a check and could only get movement “noise” with a fair amount of effort.
It’s only noticeable at low speed and rough road surface, but not when driving over bumps.
Don’t worry, I’ll get to the bottom of it.😄
That’s the problem with bionic ears.😳

Finally got around to making the chimera of bits FBH complete.

So there was a PCB from Terry at TS Autos, which I used various bits off to make the original PCB's somewhat non compliant K-Bus somewhat more talkative, and a coolant pump courtesy of Trikey, which unlike the one that was fitted originally, actually runs

So now we have an FBH which has been decoked, serviced, and generally turned from the item that had lain unplugged for many a year on another ZT because when connected it corrupted the K-Bus communications.

So if the weather is decent tomorrow after I complete some paying work, I shall mount the new dosing pump, plumb in the water lines, and fit the exhaust.

I've dry fitted it, and it communicates with T4, all outputs force successfully, so all being well and good it might just burst into life

Then I can think about sorting out the timer and Telestart unit

I've never had a diesel fitted with a FBH before, so this should be an experience
