Default KV6 Fuel Rail leak Driving Me Nuts

The left hand fuel rail started leaking, the steel one which goes from front to rear left hand side of the engine., I remove the large clip holding the steel pipe to the front bank and the O ring had split, now when I replaced the O ring which was supplied by Mr Injector UK and the correct size O ring, I can move the pipe quite a bit in even with the large clip behind the collar and is now leaking fuel badly, is there a spacer that's fits in the plastic housing or on the steel pipe because even with 3 O rings there is till slight play in the pipe/Plastic housing, the only thing I can think of is the spacer popped out if there is one. Cheer

If it's the bit I'm thinking of then I had the same problem a couple of years back. I couldn't find anybody who supplied the right size o-rings. Mostly people got confused an gave me the ones for the rail/injectors which aren't the same size. Can't remember where I got mine in the end but I remember having to put 2 or 3 in a row to spot any movement.

Thanks for the reply, I've got 3 o rings on at the moment will have to add one more to take up the play, still think there is a spacer missing,

From memory (which probably isn't good) I don't recall there being a spaced. Just the metal pipe, fuel rail, 0-ring and push on clip.

With just 1 seal on the pipe and inserted with the clip fitted behind the shoulder, you can still move the pipe in the plastic housing at least 1\4 inch , still looking for answers chaps.

I had a similar issue with the front fuel rail on mine. Ensure that the clip hasn't jumped past the collar on the pipe. I bought a box of o-rings from halfrauds, needed to use three to pack it out. 15K since and no issues.

Looks like i will have to do that Pompey, pack out with 4 o rings and hopefully that will cure, does not seam right though 4 o rings but will still try and find out the answer and post the outcome. Cheers

Even with 4 o rings in its still not right, has any one stripped these fuel rails down there must be something else apart from the o ring in there, this is the front fuel rail which connects to the rear rail, this really has got me stumped, the Rover has now been off the road for 2 weeks, please help anyone even if you have a spare complete fuel just remove the large clip and let us know whats in the there, cheers
