Even better are the rear subframe bolts on the Freelander - captive nuts inside the body box sections
. To get to them you have to cut through the boot floor.

Thank you clf and e30325itourer. Didn't really want to remove more than the antiroll bar but seems I may have to. Looks like a job to do when it is off the road for winter.

I fixed the bodge job on my brake lights today done by a previous owner. Instead of fitting a new Brake light switch, they plumbed a pressure switch in the O/S/F metal brake pipe.
So new switch fitted, tested the wiring at the rear lights, solder all the wires back together and rip out the bodged wire.
I now have working brake lights and no warnings on the dashboard! Result!!

Drove my 75 for the first time since June. My other car is a Mk4.5 Mondeo, which was bought in June after "pressure" from 'er indoors.

My son came to see us last night, and said that he had replaced 9 sets of headlight bulbs in the 8 years of ownership. I have only had one bulb go in 9 years. What is going on? Have read that a lot of people have trouble with headlight bulbs blowing.

Actually started it today, off work tomorrow to go and get some rear arms as I didn’t get them last week due to severe weather and flooding.

After work I thought I’d make a start on the tourer. Managed to get both rear arms unbolted without the captive nuts spinning which made me happy. Unfortunately the drivers side top rose joint Bush is just spinning with the bolt. When I collected the arms there was supposed to be new bolts but unfortunately they weren’t in stock. Looks like it’s a new bolt ordered and new Bush. Shame as I was hoping to have it back on the road. I will rebuild the passenger side tomorrow and have another go at removing the bolt/Bush on the drivers side. The good point is that the cars on a lift, the bad point is that it should of been off the lift by Monday....... looking to find a link to the bushes that Brian posted a while ago?
