CDT, cuts out as soon as you touch pedal !
The vehicle was driving fine then the symptom was the vehicle began to run out of power until it eventually stopped.
The RAC ran a diagnostic check on the car which they put down as a fuelling system issue. The car does start and run. But as soon as you touch the accelerator pedal the engine cuts out. Any ideas as to the cause or remedy welcome..... |

Hi Charles.
Auto or manual, first i would remove the synergy 2, then leave the MAF sensor unplugged see if it make any difference. If not try and get a T4 session on it, you could also do a leak back test, as the plenums been checked as the ECU got wet do you know. Do you have UBP i doubt it though as you have a 2005, i have seen them with UBP if so put the hose into a bottle, and get someone to turn key to II is fuel flowing freely with out spluttering. https://youtu.be/MikZPHxCUww

I presume the RAC checked for any fault codes, were there any, if so what were they and were they erased ?
As Arctic says it does point to a fuelling fault, given the symptoms of loosing power on the journey and the fact that it starts and idles OK but when the demand for more fuel is given it stalls, could point to low fuel flow/ pressure for various reasons.
